“A brilliant course! Very clever strategic thinking PLUS an insight into the hard work and focus which are also required to make it all happen. Top notch!”
- Lis Allen
Jacqueline has worked as a business strategist for the last fourteen years and has extensive experience taking global brands to market across multiple sectors. Whilst at Euro RSCG and M&C Saatchi's agencies her clients included Foster's & Kronenbourg beer, Intel, Proctor & Gamble, Kellogg's, Jean Paul Gaultier, Paul Smith, Glaxo Smith Kline and Reckitt Benckiser whilst working in Sydney, New York and London. In 2009, Jacqueline left the corporate world to work as an advisor to startups and SMEs and is subsidised by the UK government to help ambitious businesses achieve rapid, high and sustainable growth. An expert at helping start-ups and small businesses to set up growth hacking systems, processes, and mindsets, Jacqueline does not follow the typical marketing rulebook. Every strategy and every tactic Jacqueline teaches is focused on growth. Often working with start-ups with little or no budget, Jacqueline shows them how to hack the system to grow their companies by building marketing into the very products they create. Her approach to marketing focuses on what is testable, trackable and scalable - it's metric based and ROI focused. Email, pay per click, data, API's, social media and lean methodology are the tools of this new marketing trade. If you want to get, maintain and multiply attention in a scalable way, work with Jacqueline. Jacqueline is the author of two international best selling books: “Business Email Marketing: proven tips, solutions and tools for small business owners” and “Marketing to Win: how small business owners can do more with less.”
“Jacqueline has a vast knowledge in marketing and she can prove it—2 bestselling books! But not only that, she also has a great way of teaching others how to do it for themselves. She's extremely generous in sharing her expertise and helps you hands-on with your own stuff. I highly recommend her courses.”

For Tom, there’s nothing better than creating kick-ass events that connect passionate entrepreneurs with powerful ideas and each other. (Except for maybe pizza. Pizza is a close second.) After several years of taking the lead on the highly-acclaimed Project Getaway event series, Tom Huges wanted to make his vision of teaching entrepreneurs invaluable skills more accessible. The result is Getaway Ignite: focused, week-long events where startups meet, grow, and learn in paradise. Tom’s background in law and international travel make for a formidable combination of strategy and energy, and his events are known for being equal parts enriching and fun. His infectious smile, get-it-done attitude and positivity set the tone for all of his events.
Brand & Marketing Director
With a combination background of Events Marketing and Advertising Copywriting, Laura Viviana is the driving force behind translating Getaway Ignite’s dynamic brand to it’s audience. With six years of messaging experience, (her last position being a lead copywriter in a high-powered legal publishing firm on Wall St.), Laura is equal parts colorful and strategic. When she’s not slinging ink or brainstorming on Getaway Ignite’s brand positioning, she’s eating pizza with Tom, surfing, and writing poems.
Sheila "Savvi" McCarthy
When it comes to superpowers, Savvi’s extensive background in training and teaching is just the tip of the iceberg. Over the course of her career, she’s taught over 40,000 people in 300 cities on a variety of topics—from learning French to communications and technical training. Savvi also runs a killer event—her last major endeavor was co-creating an interactive Hollywood-themed affair in France for two-hundred marketing professionals in the aviation industry. Driven yet easy going, Savvi’s zest for life is supremely contagious and she’s been known to 'not save anything for the swim back'. When she’s not cooking up brilliant ideas for her projects, she can be found decompressing in nature, sometimes accompanied with pizza. Of note: she takes it with extra parmesan (aka crack).
